A huge pride of Lions gathered in York Minster to celebrate a golden age of charity successes.

Fundraisers from Lions clubs across Yorkshire were at the venue for a Grand Millennium Concert to mark 50 years of Lions clubs helping communities across the UK.

And raising the roof at the celebration, which saw the Minster packed out with an audience of more than 1,000 people, was the musical mastery of the Catterick-based King's Division Waterloo Band and the vocal talents of national champions the Colne Valley Male Voice Choir.

Gordon Harrison, of Minster Lions, said: "It was an absolutely electric evening. The band was awesome and the choir were magnificent."

Any profits made from the night are being donated to Lions Club International Foundation, an international humanitarian fund.
