THE four crown-commended hotel, Jarvis Abbey Park in The Mount, York, has entered the Progress Through People category - justified when you see how new recruits are taken through its dedicated interactive computer-based training programme to ensure consistency of message.
Staff are actively encouraged to develop workplace strengths through NVQ programmes, and performance and training reviews. All of which helped the hotel attain Investors In People status, and earned it various accolades.
A staff member recently earned the title, Housekeeper of the Year from the York and District Hospitality Association and the hotel won the Kitchen Team of the Year in the annual Jarvis Awards.
