The quiet rural community of Fryton, near Malton, was in shock today after the sudden death of a well-known resident and farmer.
Robin Cundill, 48, of North Farm, was found dead on his property with a gunshot wound to the head.
Friends spoke of Mr Cundill as a friendly man, who seemed to enjoy life.
An inquest was opened and adjourned at Malton today.
Police say there are no suspicious circumstances.
