IF BUSES are an old issue in York, the infamous bollard in Stonebow represents the new face of traffic problems.
The vengeful rising bollard, which emerges out of the road like something from Thunderbirds, was switched off last month after five accidents. Now the automatic obstacle is back in action without any alteration, though City of York Council will still monitor its progress.
Such is its notoriety that surely everyone in York must now know about the rising bollard. That just leaves tourists and visitors. Let's hope they read the signs.
