Deep Water, who was successful over fences at Catterick last month, can follow-up on the same course tomorrow.

The gelding is trained by Micky Hammond, who completed a double at the last meeting here and whose horses are running out of their skins at present.

A former high-class hurdler, Deep Water has always looked as though fences would hold no terrors for him.

The six-year-old finished a good second at Carlisle two outings ago and got off the mark over tomorrow's course and distance three weeks ago.

Although the winning margin that day was only a head, Deep Water was six lengths clear when he blundered at the final fence.

Sure to have benefitted from that experience the Middleham gelding can step up again tomorrow and, in the hands of Brian Harding, can complete a repeat victory.

In the Helister Novices' Chase, Meadowbank makes plenty of appeal.

Mick Easterby's gelding, a winning pointer last season, made a promising start to his chasing career at Wetherby when finishing second to Narrow Water.

Meadowbank had looked in need of that outing and, sure to have benefitted markedly as a result, should be able to step up here.

Russ Garritty again has the mount on the Sheriff Hutton gelding.

Easterby also has good prospects with Castletown Count in the Christmas Handicap Chase.

The eight-year-old has finished in the frame in both his completed starts this season and is overdue a winning turn. It could well happen here over a course and distance where he has been successful in the past. Richard McGrath has the mount.

In the Raffyard House Selling Hurdle, Nap selection Farceur Du Mesnil has an excellent chance.

Kevin Morgan's gelding finished second to Moonraking at Ludlow last time when a blunder at the final flight spoiled his chances.

Farceur Du Mesnil is likely to have benefitted from that race, which was his first after a break.

At Lingfield, Level Headed is expected to go well in division one of the Court Plumbing & Heating Fillies' Handicap under apprentice George Baker, who has made a big impression this season.

* There are no weather problems reported for Catterick race meeting tomorrow and Thursday although wet weather continues to cause havoc with racing elsewhere in the country.

Hereford's card today and Bangor's tomorrow were both called off yesterday.

Prospects at Towcester and Exeter on Thursday are poor. There will be inspections at both these courses tomorrow at noon and 11.30am respectively

Prospects for racing at Warwick on Saturday are poor.

Wetherby and Plumpton meetings yesterday were called off.
