Dringhouses crushed Civil Service 6-0 at Boroughbridge Road in the fourth round of York FA Saturday Reserve Cup, one of only two ties played, the others being postponed because of waterlogged pitches and county competitions.

Civil Service defended well in a goalless first half but Dringhouses took the lead after two minutes of the second half when a shot by Paul Copeland just evaded the Civil Service 'keeper.

On the hour, Jimmy McMurray made it 2-0 when he scored after a great solo run. Dringhouses increased their lead when their goalkeeper Jamie Backhouse scored from the penalty spot.

Dringhouses substitute Colin Brown netted with his first touch and there were further goals by Alan Ellis and Brown.

Reserve 'C' side Boroughbridge sprang an upset when they won 6-3 away to Reserve 'B' side Rufforth.

Boroughbridge took an early lead when John Lean latched on to a defensive error to score. Sixteen-year-old Lee Craggs added two further goals for Boroughbridge before R Sanders reduced the arrears.

Excellent work by Boroughbridge 'keeper Dale Binns prevented a Rufforth revival. John Lean netted twice before half-time, one of them an own goal, and Boroughbridge led 4-2 at the interval.

In the second half Chris Metcalfe retained Boroughbridge's three goal cushion with a well taken goal before Sanderson got his second goal for Rufforth. Fran Raper got the final goal to give Boroughbridge a 6-3 victory.

All four ties played last weekend in the fourth round of the York FA Sunday Morning Junior Cup were decided by the odd goal.

On a waterlogged pitch Burnholme of division six lost 2-1 at home to division three side Selby WMC, who took the lead in the 65th minute when a Danny Hewitt shot stuck in the mud and Chris Harkin following up slid home.

Selby made it 2-0 when a John Ginty shot evaded the Burnholme 'keeper. Alex Preece beat the offside trap to score for Burnholme, who missed several chances to force the tie into extra-time.

Copmanthorpe Reserves scored a surprise 2-1 win against BH Colts. Gareth Pudsey headed in both Copmanthorpe's goals in the first half. Jamie Rank scored for BH Colts in the second half.

A Gary Newbold goal ten minutes into extra time gave Beeswing a 4-3 win at Raskelf. Matthew Hinds put Beeswing ahead and Michael Raper equalised with a chip shot over the 'keeper.

Raskelf were 3-1 up 15 minutes into the second half with goals by Lewis Calder and Tom Green, but Beeswing fought back and following a corner Ian Birch headed in from 18-yards.

With five minutes of the game remaining Keith Barron forced the ball into the Raskelf net to sent the game into extra time.

Acomb SC won 3-2 against Bishopthorpe, Andrew Tuite heading Acomb ahead and two goals by John Bonarius putting Acomb 3-0 up. Bishopthorpe fought back with two late goals.

Rawcliffe beat Huntington 3-0 in the fourth round of York FA Intermediate Cup, Luke Roberts scoring in the first half and Joe Woods and Adam Chappelow netting in the second half of a game in which the Rawcliffe defence played brilliantly.

Copmanthorpe Under-14s missed a penalty in the last minute and lost 2-1 to Grasshoppers Under-15s, whose scorers were Sam Hill and Mitchell Buckley.

Pickering beat Brooklyn of Malton 3-1 to reach the semi-finals.
