A York company announced today that it has won a blockbuster £18 million contract to supply British soldiers with short range tactical radios, headsets and wiring harnesses.
Davies Industrial Communications of Sutton Road, Wigginton, shares the spoils with Marconi, who bought out the firm in June.
Now the factory will move into the larger 17,000 sq ft former British Aerospace building in the Green Park Business Centre, Sutton-on-Forest, at the end of next month and add 20 more people to the 35 on the payroll in order to service the contract.
