York Wasps have brought forward their New Year's Day fixture to allow players and fans to enjoy the festivities.
The match at Batley Bulldogs will now be played the previous day, with a 12.30pm kick-off.
Chief executive Ann Garvey said both clubs could see the benefits of playing on New Year's Eve. She said: "It's a Sunday anyway and it means the players can go out and enjoy themselves on New Year's Day."
