A teenager who was hit by a car while crossing a road died today.
Jamie Colin Sanders, 16, of Bullamoor Road, Northallerton, had been in intensive care at York District Hospital since suffering serious head injuries on Tuesday night.
He had been struck while crossing the A64 to get to a bus stop at Bilbrough Top.
Police are still looking for the driver of a green car, possibly a Fiat Punto, which parked behind Jamie to shield him from oncoming traffic.
Jamie had been heading to the bus stop after finishing work at the Armstrong Massey garage, where he started work last week as a trainee service receptionist.
