Simon Dyson is expected to add more silverware to his Davidoff Order of Merit crown at a prestigious awards ceremony this weekend.

The 23-year-old Malton golfer is tipped to sweep the board at the Asian Professional Golfers' Association Annual Gala Dinner on Sunday.

Awards will be handed out to players in recognition of their achievements in the year 2000, which saw Dyson land three titles as well as the Asian Tour crown in his rookie year as a professional.

Before then Dyson will have the chance to claim another title when he takes part in the US$910,000 (£650,000) Carlsberg Malaysian Open in Kuala Lumpur which gets underway tomorrow.

With his mother and girlfriend scheduled fly into Malaysia to lead the cheering squad, Dyson is tipped to challenge the likes of US Masters winner Vijay Singh of Fiji, New Zealand's Michael Campbell and two-time Major winner, American John Daly, for the US$151,660 (£108,320) top prize

Dyson has made a fine start on the European Tour this year, finishing equal ninth at the joint-sanctioned South African Open last week.

He is also keen to enjoy a strong outing in Malaysia as his professional career took off after he finished second at the Qualifying School in Johor Baru last January.
