LEEPER Hare York and District League division two leaders Hammerton United beat Copmanthorpe 3-1.

Mark Latimer, Ian Haydon and James Lambert put Hammerton 3-0 ahead before Darren Starkey reduced the arrears for Copmanthorpe.

Huby moved into third spot with a 2-1 win at home to White Horse.

After a goalless first half Lee Goodwin opened the scoring for Huby but ten minutes later Jamie Walton equalised from the penalty spot. Rich Jennison restored Huby's lead five minutes later.

Poppleton continued their revival with a point against Heslington. Simon Hunt opened the scoring for Poppleton but goals from Gary Newbould and Steve Seymour put Heslington in front before the interval.

Hunt netted his second after the break and gained his side a valuable point in their fight against relegation.

Easingwold increased Hemingbrough's relegation problems by beating them 6-0. Tony Snowdon scored a hat-trick, Paul Rhodes got two goals and Mike Smith one.

Brothers Sam and John Bothomley both scored to give Norton a 2-0 first half lead at home to Stillington.

Jimmy Inman scored for Stillington after 55 minutes but a John Dutton strike ten minutes from time ensured the points for Norton.

Haxby & Wigginton moved to the fringe of the promotion places with a 4-1 win at home to Heworth. James Gibson, Mark Grewer, Chris Dyson and Alan Deaton scored for Haxby & Wigginton, Gareth Sullivan replying for Heworth.

Two wins against Wheldrake in back-to-back games have put T & L Selby top of division three.

They won the first match 7-0 with goals by Chris Harkin, Paul Tanton, Darren Fawcett (2), Mike Barnitt (2) and Simon Hewitt.

In the second game T & L had to rely on an own goal and a Paul Tanton strike to win 2-0.

The six points gained puts T & L top of the table on goal difference and with a game in hand over Hamilton Panthers, who won 6-0 at Wilberfoss.

The home side restricted the Panthers to one goal scored by Neil Rankeillor in the first half but after the break Panthers took control with goals by Mark Moore (2), Andy Lovett, Daniel Midgeley and a further strike from Rankeillor.

The young Elvington Harriers side halted their recent run of defeats as they held Rawcliffe Rangers to a 1-1 draw. Rangers netted early in the game and Tom Hovington equalised after 40 minutes.

Hovington then spurned a glorious chance to grab all three points for Elvington when he blasted a penalty against the crossbar in the 88th minute.

Marton cum Grafton drew 4-4 at home to Strensall. John Watson (2), Simon Howarth and Duncan Aldrick netted for Marton, with Mick Pipe and Paul Lawrie each scoring twice for Strensall.

Grasshoppers 82 are still searching for their first win of the season but gained a home point against Selby RSSC

The visitors took an early lead but Gary Duckworth levelled from the penalty spot five minutes before half time. Ben Coates put Grasshoppers into the lead on the hour but Selby equalised ten minutes later.

Charlie Goodwin scored for Moor Lane in the first minute of their game at LNER Builders. Jamie Williams equalised for the Builders after 40 minutes but a few minutes later Goodwin got his second and what proved to be the winner.
