Leeper Hare York and District League division one leaders Haxby Town were beaten and their nearest rivals Nestle Rowntree held to a draw on Saturday.

Haxby lost 2-0 to Malton Bacon Factory while Rowntree were held 2-2 at Fulford.

Centre back Darren Rushworth proved a handful for the Haxby defence at set plays and both the Bacon Factory side's goals came from corners.

Jamie Ward netted the first goal as he latched on to a Rushworth back-header after 20 minutes. Ten minutes later Nicky Cass benefited from confusion in the Haxby defence to net the second goal.

Glen Featherstone put Fulford in front before the break but a Dave Houldridge own goal let Rowntree back into the game. Carl Hodgson restored Fulford's lead but the visitors equalised.

Osbaldwick moved out of the relegation zone with a 4-1 win at Thorpe United. Mark Triffitt, Dave Watson and Mark Andrews netted first half goals for Osbaldwick, with Mel Joblin replying for Thorpe. Late in the game James Luck netted Osbaldwick's fourth goal.

Wigginton Black Horse and Barmby Moor are now in the relegation places after both losing.

Stewart Winter, Paul Hughes and Stewart Ross set Riccall on their way with first half goals against Barmby Moor at Bishop Wilton. A goal from Jim Clark kept the home side in the game and Rob Bradley further reduced the deficit after the break, but Sean Steward netted Riccall's fourth to end Barmby's fightback.

Black Horse lost 5-1 to South Bank despite taking the lead after two minutes through Neil Newton. New signing Chris Rowan, who has moved from York RI, equalised and went on to notch a second to add to goals from Simon Kehoe (2) and Sean Turner.

Post Office went 3-0 up against Civil Service at Boroughbridge Road through Matt Knowles, Andy Tuite and Andy Bonarious and then John Thornton scored twice for the home side in the last two minutes.
