WOULD someone explain the latest decisions by City of York Council regarding roadworks?
On Monday, Holgate Road from Dalton Terrace to Blossom Street, was closed westbound only. This caused horrendous traffic problems that night and during rush hours thereafter.
By Wednesday morning the only thing that seems to have been done is a 100 metre stretch of footpath which has been dug up and tidied - but not relaid.
Then on Wednesday someone had the bright idea of closing one lane of St Maurice's Road outside Sainsburys. This caused chaos from around 3pm onwards because it is the route used by many to avoid Holgate who, like me, travel from the Hull Road area to Acomb every day.
Just what are they doing?
