Disney's Aladdin in Nasira's Revenge, published by Disney Interactive for PlayStation
Fans of the hugely popular animated movie, Aladdin, are sure to enjoy this follow-up adventure for the PlayStation. Aladdin's nemesis, Jafar, has long since been despatched to the after-life, but his evil sister Nasira has found a way to bring back the dastardly villain by invoking the "spell of restoration". In order to do this, she must obtain various ancient artifacts scattered across the vast Arabian deserts, but first she takes control of the Sultan's Palace and imprisons Aladdin's beloved princess. Now it is up to you, playing the role of Aladdin, to rescue the princess and thwart Nasira's evil plan.
This is a great game, similar in principal to Disney's superb Toy Story 2. You must use a combination of strategy and fighting skills to navigate through 28 levels, collecting coins, rubies and tokens as you go, as well as battling with various villains and bosses for good measure. With bonus levels and even a wish-making genie slot machine which hands out extra lives, etc, there are plenty of different challenges to keep you occupied.
The graphics are very good, and so is the sound. With so many varied tasks to complete, the gameplay and span are excellent. All in all, a superb game, not quite on a par with Buzz, Woody and Co, but don't let that deter you. As the Genie might say ... Magic!
