Carruthers has agreed personal terms with the Iron but a fee has still to be agreed between the two clubs.

Jordan was due to link-up with former Minstermen manager and current Boro boss Neil Thompson on Tuesday but yesterday played for Halifax Town reserves against Macclesfield.

Despite a 1-0 win for the Shaymen manager Paul Bracewell has decided not to follow up his interest in the 25-year-old.

Colchester striker Tony Lock, who played a couple of reserves games for City this month has joined Conference outfit Dagenham and redbridge.

Meanwhile, ex-City starlet Jonathan Greening, who as reported in the Evening Press yesterday has gone on the transfer-list at Manchester United, is not expected to quit Old Trafford until the end of the season at the earliest.

The biggest move early today saw striker Andy Booth return to Huddersfield from Sheffield Wednesday for £200,000.
