Academy knock out Harrogate

Former York skipper Ian Dews, who is in charge of the Academy side, scored an unbeaten 43 that contained two sixes and three boundaries.

With Chris Brice (16no) the unbroken sixth wicket stand put on 64 and helped the Academy overtake Harrogate's 128 all out in 49 overs with two overs to spare.

Dave Crowther took three Academy wickets for 32 in his ten overs and Steve Jenson took two for 17.

John Proud was top scorer for Harrogate with 39, but a tight ten over of right arm medium pace bowling by Tom Baker (5-22), supported by 2-30 from Pickering off-spinner Dan Broadbent laid the foundations for the Academy's victory.
