Pickering lead division five of Hunters Estate Agent York and District Senior League by 26 points after gaining their third win, this time at the expense of Sessay.

Peter Rivis made 40 for Pickering, but five wickets fell reasonably quickly as Keith Till took three for 55. Robert Aconley (66no) and Andrew Grayson (37no) then took control and Pikes totalled 166 for five. Ian Johnson took five for 26 as Sessay were all out for 103.

Civil Service second team were dismissed for only 69, Andrew Jarvis taking six for 18, and lost to Selby by 43 runs.

Cawood's Bob Paddison made a dour 52 before being caught in the 47th over against one of his former clubs, Rowntree.

The star was 13-year-old Ben Preston, who took five for 55 as Hovingham were dismissed for 158.

Mike Hemmingway took five for 33 in ten overs and Mark Redhead four for 25 to wreck the Thorp Arch innings. Thorp Arch were dismissed for 95, Matt Layfield scoring 47.
