Dave Todd of Dringhouses clean bowled three Sheriff Hutton batsmen with successive deliveries as the visitors slumped to six for three, but still found himself on the losing side in division four of Hunters Estate Agent York and District Senior League.

An unbeaten 84 by Eddie Hull steered the Castlemen to a one wicket win.

John Futter had made 86 to help Dringhouses reach 165 for six. Kevin McGuinness made 37 in an opening stand of 90.

Eddie Hull took four for 42 for Sheriff Hutton and then came to the rescue with the bat when his side were 118 for eight.

He added 39 with number ten batsman Richard Armitage (17) and steered Sheriff Hutton to victory after the ninth wicket fell with nine runs still required. Todd's final figures were five for 65 off 17.5 overs.

Huby continue to set the pace in the division after gaining the better of a draw at Carlton Towers, whose Steve Landers bowled five of his victims in his six for 42 in 22 overs. Huby made only 114 for eight.

Martin Denby replied with 45 but the Carlton reached only 109 for eight after scoring 35 runs in the last five overs in which they lost two batsmen to run out decisions.

James Byford cracked 80 as Acomb took full batting points by making 212 for seven against Easingwold. Scott Nicholls then took three for 23 to restrict Easingwold to 151 for seven.

Dunnington beat Thorp Arch and Boston Spa by three wickets. Andy Hawkswell led the way for Thorp Arch with 53, but Steve Whitaker (3-16) and John Goodrick (4-67) restricted them to 133 for seven.

John Fordham's 41 was decisive as Dunnington won at 137 for seven.

Huntington had the better of a draw with Sheriff Hutton Bridge despite a fine knock of 74 by Bridge's Chris Walls.

Neil Atkinson made 45 and Nick Thurlow 44 for Huntington who were able to make 150 for seven despite former Scarborough bowler Steve Glaves taking four for 63. The Bridge were then restricted to 143 for seven as Steve Beales took four for 29.

Thirsk are bottom of the table after losing to Yapham in a game played at Huby because of Thirsk Races. Thirsk got only one point after being dismissed for 99, Dave Barnes taking 4-19, and then taking only three Yapham wickets. Dick Wright made 38 and Trevor Walker an unbeaten 30 for Yapham.
