The three men charged in connection with a shooting incident at James Street Caravan Site in York were today sent to the city's crown court for trial.

Karl Gaskin, aged 28, of James Street Caravan Park, is accused of attempted murder.

Anthony Gaskin, aged 30, of Diamond Street, The Groves, is charged with possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life and to make a woman fear unlawful violence.

John Robert Hooton, aged 56, of Thistle Hill Caravan Park, Knaresborough, is accused of concealing a shotgun with intent to prevent the arrest of the other two men.

All three are charged with violent disorder.

York magistrates sent the trio to York Crown Court where they will appear next month.

The Gaskins, who were represented by John Howard, made no application for bail and were remanded in custody.

Hooton, who was represented by Carl Kingsley, was bailed to a secret address.
