John Prescott was returning to Wales today for the first time since his scuffle in Rhyl last week.
The Deputy Prime Minister, who visited Goole on Saturday, was hitting the campaign trail in South Wales with Welsh Secretary Paul Murphy.
A Labour spokesman said security would be tight for the trip but although no walkabouts were planned, Mr Prescott would be meeting voters.
Mr Prescott's visit is aimed at fighting apathy among Labour voters.
The Labour spokesman said: "He will be meeting real people. It is a 'get the vote out' message, saying a second term is essential. We have every reason to be proud of what we have done but we need another five years."
Mr Prescott has been questioned by police about the scuffle with 29-year-old Craig Evans in North Wales on Wednesday night.
Mr Evans, from Llandyrnog, was arrested, but later released on police bail until the middle of June.
