The mysterious death of David Williamson eight weeks ago is still plaguing police.
The investigation is still continuing, with police resources remaining at the same level as when the inquiry began; but information on the death is sparse.
Mr Williamson, 57, was found on a roadside path a few hundred yards from his home in Sutton-on-Forest on Monday, March 26. Tests showed he had suffered a fractured skull from a blow to the back of the head with a blunt instrument. Detectives have described the lack of information from the public as "shocking".
Police are still appealing to the driver of a dark-coloured saloon vehicle which was seen in the area of Bentley's Barn to come forward. They also want to speak to a middle-aged man who is believed to regularly walk a black and white Springer spaniel in the Skates Lane area early in the morning, and a man walking along Wigginton Road, around Ploughmans Transport, around 5.30am that morning.
Anyone who has any information, no matter how small, should contact the incident room on 01904 669448 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
