Pocklington won a close game at Bolton Percy in the first round of the Guy Mitchell President's Under-15 Cup.

Batting first, A Downey, with 53 not out, helped Pocklington set a total of 104 for four.

Bolton Percy's D White followed his bowling haul of three for 13 with a knock of 43 to take Bolton Percy to within eight runs of victory.

Heworth set York a total of 81 in which John Flint scored 28 not out but this was not enough as York reached the target with two overs to spare, Tom Bartram's unbeaten 46 leading the way.

Selby had an easy passage at Escrick Park where the home side made just 60 against C Dye, who took five for seven.

Dye (21 not out) and Matt Hoyle (30 not out) steered Selby to a ten-wicket win.

Acomb's Stephen Sacks hit 56 not out and A Carberry's return of three for three took their side to a 58-run victory over Osbaldwick.

Ovington's C Theaker hit 58 not out in his team's 43-run defeat of Yapham.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge are setting the pace in the Yorkshire Sheeting Supplies Under-13 League East Zone as they recorded their third win, at Woodhouse Grange.

D Coverdale and J Gavin both scored 27 in Bridge's total of 98 for six which Woodhouse failed to reach by 22 runs.

Dunnington's good form continued as four batsmen, J Bolam, A Gowthorpe, J Bairstow and M Marley, all scored the maximum in a total of 159 for three at Pocklington to earn an easy win.

Stamford Bridge had a 38-run win over Clifton Alliance, O Pimlott making 31.

In the West Zone, three wickets in eight balls with no runs conceded by Escrick's G Daniel took the Park to a 27-run win in a low scoring game against Bolton Percy.

Ovington, in another low scoring match, won by seven wickets at Selby, while York dented Acomb's hopes of gaining top spot with a 57-run victory thanks to K Issett's knock of 34 and D Heaton's 32.
