GIGS galore and music on the move continue to keep York full of tunes during the BBC Music Live weekend.

The event, based in York, Leeds and Bradford, got into full swing yesterday with live sets in York's Parliament Street and performances in a range of venues.

Paul Carrack, formerly of Mike and the Mechanics, who appeared at Harry's Bar in Micklegate, was one of the many turns to take to the stage yesterday.

And many musicians went "on the move", performing in more unusual venues, like the High Spirits Barber Shop quartet who are pictured singing at Cube Hairdressing for Men in Swinegate. There will be plenty of entertainment both in Parliament Street and in the Museum Gardens throughout the holiday weekend to satisfy shoppers and visitors.

Comedian Jack Dee is to appear at the Grand Opera House, York, on Saturday, December 8. Tickets go on sale on May 29 at £19 and £18 and can be booked on 01904 671818.
