York Acorn Rugby League Club winger Tim Wilcock landed the first team's top accolade when taking the Man of Steel award at their end of season presentation night.

Wilcock and all the other winners received their awards from the club's former captain and Great Britain tourist Darren Callaghan, who is currently plying his playing trade at Gateshead Thunder in the Northern Ford Premiership.

One of the big cheers of the night was for former Acorn starlet Jon Liddell, who earlier this season made his Super League debut for Leeds Rhinos.

There was also praise for the club's Under-18s players, many of whom have become integral members of the open age sides this season.

The rest of the first team award winners were: Jon Hough (Clubman of the Year), Alan Willitts (Most Improved Player), Johnny Waldron (Coaches' Player), Dave Norman and Lee Frank (joint Players' Player).

Club physio Stephen Thompson, who has been selected as the physio for Great Britain Under-21s' summer tour of the United States, won the Donald Shepherd Special Service award.

The award winners for the 'A' team were: Derek Arthur (Clubman of the Year), Shaun Gilmoor (Andy Cowl Man of Steel and Coaches' Player), Kevin Brundett (Most Improved Player), Craig Fox (Coaches' Player), Alex Cowton (Players' Player), Mark Hebblethwaite (top try scorer).

The award winners for the Under-18s were: Nic Caldwell (Clubman of the Year), Robbie Dolan (Mike Kirby Man of Steel), James Morrow (Most Improved Player), John Tattersfield (Players' Player).

As well as the open age presentation night, the juniors have had their respective end of season awards.

The Under-12s winners, who received their awards from Castleford Tigers forward Dean Sampson, were: Chris Magson (Clubman of the Year), Lee Spain (Most Improved Player), Mark Gover (Man of Steel), Joe Budd (Coaches' Player), Matthew Gray (Players' Player).

The Under-11s winners also received their awards from the Castleford star and were as follows: Tom Bustfield (Clubman of the Year), Luke Watling (Most Improved Player), David Leeke (Man of Steel), Matthew Fairclough (Coaches' Player), Eddie Beddingham (Players' Player).

Darren Callaghan and Dewsbury Rams' former York Wasps star Mark Cain presented the awards to the Under-15s and Under-16s.

Under-15s winners: Richie Dolan (Clubman of the Year), Marc Brookes (Most Improved Player), Kevin Brayshaw (Man of Steel and Players' Player), Chris Tinker (Coaches' Player).

Under-16s winners: Gareth Evans (Clubman of the Year), Jason Harper (Most Improved Player), Peter Fox (Man of Steel), Andy Henson (Coaches' Player), Tom Lyons (Players' Player), Michael Wildon (Impact Player award).
