Shop workers got an unexpected chance to sunbathe this afternoon when a power blackout hit city centre shops.
Customers were shepherded out of stores including Gap, River Island and Littlewoods when electricity failed just before noon in Davygate, Coney Street and Micklegate, though not all shops in the areas were affected.
