Secret Conquest, who bolted home at Doncaster last Saturday evening, can complete a quick double at Haydock tomorrow.

Trained near Scorton by David Barker, whose horses are in sparkling form, the four-year-old goes for the Haydock Park Annual Badgeholders Handicap and is fancied to defy a 6lb penalty in the hands of Tyrone Williams.

Williams was in the saddle at Doncaster where Secret Conquest ran out an impressive winner, fulfilling the promise she had previously shown at Redcar, where she failed to stay a mile, and at Beverley, where she did not get the cleanest of runs.

Following a filly in form in mid-summer is often a good ploy for punters and Secret Conquest is expected to take plenty of beating.

Jim Goldie can provide the answer to the Peggy And Dave Slater Silver Wedding Handicap with Pips Magic.

Glasgow-based Goldie is enjoying a fine season and, following his valuable success at York last month with Orientor in the William Hill Trophy, he followed-up with Indian Spark in the Gosfoth Park Cup at Newcastle last Friday night.

Pips Magic is neither as capable or consistent as that pair, but he is still a pretty smart sprinter at this level.

A hold-up horse who needs luck in running, things just haven't gone his way recently, but he's proved he's in good heart and it would be no surprise to see him returning to the winning trail here. Tony Culhane has the mount.

The Shopacheck Maiden Stakes looks a good opportunity for Masterful to open his winning account. John Gosden's colt has finished runner-up on both his starts this season, but is now fancied to make it third-time-lucky. Robert Havlin has the mount.

In the Victoria Park Fillies' Handicap, Iffah makes plenty of appeal.

John Dunlop's three-year-old, already a winner this season, has not had much racing and remains open to further improvement. Willie Supple takes the ride.

Dunlop can also clinch the Goose Green Handicap with Caqui d'Or, who will have the assistance of Pat Eddery.

A Beverley winner two outings ago, Caqui d'Or was a beaten favourite next time out at Ripon but that was a messy affair, run at a dawdling gallop, which hardly brought this three-year-old's stamina properly into play.

Over a mile and three-quarters tomorrow, he certainly deserves the chance to bounce back and he is awarded the nap vote.

At Chepstow, Flying Trapeze can continue his progression in the Weatherbys Eclipse Pedigrees Handicap.

Jeremy Noseda's charge has really come good recently, winning his last two races and, although they were both only modest affairs, Flying Trapeze now stands on the threshold of completing a notable hat-trick.
