I AM a council member of the Clan Sutherland Society in Scotland, and I'm collecting military badges connected with the name Sutherland.
At a recent antiques fair at Elvington Airfield I bought a 1914-1918 medal with the inscription "31245 Pte J Sutherland. York. R".
I hope that the recipient of this medal was a local man and that some of your readers may be able tell me the history to the medal.
