CUEBALL Club 'A' beat their 'B' team 6-4 in Cueball Pool League division one thanks to two wins each from Mark Brown and Tim Hart.

Health Service Club made good ground with a 7-3 win over Layerthorpe 'B' helped by two each from Brian Baxter, Glen Raisbeck and Paul Stanton. Graham Duffield took the last two for Layerthorpe. Layerthorpe 'B' relinquished their 100 per cent record by drawing at Volunteer Arms 'B' for whom Sean Mahoney won twice. Lee Winspear and Joe Goddard starred for the league leaders.

Edinburgh Arms and Huntington 'A', the only sides without a win as yet are still searching after they finished all square with Mark Shipman winning twice for Edinburgh.

White Rose prevailed in the top of division two clash with Bishopthorpe SC for whom Dawn Paylor won twice. Andy Wade and Ian Smith won two each to maintain Rose's 100 per cent start and give them a nine-point lead.

Mark Philips' two wins gave Burton Stone their first win of the season at the expense of Cygnet.

Huntington 'B' kept up their challenge after two from Steve Armstrong helped beat Punch Bowl for whom Craig Lea won twice. J Stephenson, P Ollerenshaw and Steve Chapman gave Tam O' Shanter 'A' a big win at bottom side Ainsty.

Frank Timney and Brian Sturdy won two each as Acomb Hotel beat Turf Tavern 'A'.

Poppleton Rd WMC kept up their 100 per cent record in division three by beating Fulford Arms 8-2 with two from Pete Yates and Mick Clarvis. Howard Rawlings won twice for Fulford Arms.

Ian White's two wins gave Dick Turpin the spoils at Turf Tavern 'B'.

Martin Oliver won twice as Tam O' Shanter 'B' shared the points with Brown Cow for whom Richard Dunn won twice.

Division three teams please note that Crystal Palace have been expelled from the league for missing two fixtures.

All points scored against them have been expunged from the records.
