GANTON Golf Club's Gary Brown has taken the next step towards playing in the Open at Lytham St Anne's later this month by coming through the regional qualifying tournament at Alwoodley Golf Club.
Brown fired a level-par 71 to be among nine qualifiers from Alwoodley, where alternate places in the qualifying stages were earned by Pannal GC's Richard Nutten, Brown's Ganton colleague Fraser Kelly, and Nick Ludwell from Selby GC.
