Three athletes from Joseph Rowntree School have smashed four city records, some of which have stood for several years.
Competing in the finals of the City of York Athletics Championships at Huntington Stadium, Katie Caffrey broke the 20-year-old Year 9 100metres record in a time of 12.7 seconds.
She then went on to smash the Year 9 long jump record, which has stood since 1983, with a distance of 4.95m.
Her sister, Rachel Caffrey, made it a family day to remember when she broke the Year 7 100m record in 13.2sec.
There was a new record too for Year 10 pupil Emily Fowler. She leapt a fantastic 9.49m in the girls triple jump, a new event.
