THE Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs has agreed to pay veterinary inspection charges for farmers moving livestock to slaughter.
Food Chain Minister Lord Whitty explained: "Given the particularly difficult situation, I decided that inspections can be carried out by Local Veterinary Inspectors. This means farmers will no longer face a bill in order to comply with our disease control measures."
