Drax opener Brian Knight cut loose against division four leaders Tollerton.

He smashed 11 fours and four sixes on his way to a rapid 90 but his lead was not followed and they slipped to 158 for seven, Tom Green taking 3 for 33.

Tony Raper, the Tollerton opener, hit 78 including ten fours and a six as Drax raced to their eighth successive win with eight overs to spare.

Max Driscoll (44) led Burton Salmon to a moderate 141 at Selby. The Selby innings was a disaster, Driscoll taking 3 for 10 in seven overs as they slumped to 49 for 9.

Burton seemed to have relaxed a little following a collision between two of their fielders which resulted in a hospital visit for Kevin Waite.

Last man Phil Lambert hacked his way to 32 and took the Selby total to 90.

York University star batsman Jim Watt scored his third century of the season and still finished on the losing side as lack of support from his colleague saw them going down to Huntington by nine runs.

Huntington posted a useful 184 for 4 on a good batting track. Brian Pudsey and Col Benson both scored half centuries as the Staff bowlers failed to make much impression.

Mal Storey bowled well taking 5 for 85 from 25 overs, including the prize wicket of Watt, while Lee Dunhill returned four for 36.

Ovington welcomed back old boy Andy Holmes and he responded in style with a cultured 78 before being lured down the wicket by Heworth's veteran bowler Terry Fannan.

The remainder of the Ovington line-up all contributed to their 212 for 9.

Paul Sugden, coming on to bowl at the end of the innings, took three for 20.

John Dale (36) and N Outram (32no) were the only two Heworth batsmen to trouble the Ovington attack, Paul Mizon taking 5 for 19 and Andy Cole 3 for 15 as the visitors were all out for 110.

Acomb climbed out of the bottom two with a good team performance against Bishopthorpe. Richard Beal (73) and Steve Sachs (26) were the top scorers in their 189. Derrick Slack took 5 for 42 and Owen Stewart 4 for 40.

The Bishops' innings lacked the big score as four batsmen got themselves in the twenties and eight of them were bowled, Arian Harris picking 5 for 47 and David Copley 3 for 40 as Acomb won by 17 runs.

Graham Forsdyke and John Murray led a Pocklington revival from 68 for 8 which enabled them to reach 121. Tom Copeland and Matt Boyle each took three wickets.
