I'm pleased to see York's Labour councillors challenge President Bush over his withdrawal from the Kyoto accords on global warming (July 26). Coun Potter is right to ask "what legacy are we going to leave our children and grandchildren?"
But it strikes me our county faces another, even more devastating threat to future generations in the form of Bush's crazy Son of Star Wars. I wonder if York Labour Party dare to take a similar public stance over this by joining the Evening Press campaign?
Or do the interests of "our children and grandchildren" in this case come second to the prestige of the Prime Minister?
