LIVE WIRE Theatre Company is committed to performing the seemingly impossible. The cast members, three National Youth Theatre members among them, believe they can start rehearsals tomorrow morning and only six days later perform a production of Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Audiences can "live the Dream" with the Thirsk company in the gardens at Ripley Castle, near Harrogate, next Friday and Saturday, when the Enchanted Walled Garden is open for picnics from 6.30pm. Performances start at 7.30pm and finish at 9.30pm.
As with all Live Wire productions, proceeds will go to children's charities, in this case the Rainbow Trust, Candlelighters and Squid. The Rainbow Trust offers care to families with a child with a life-threatening or terminal illness, both in the family home and at respite homes in Northumberland and Surrey, and all care is free.
In addition to performing, Live Wire performers must be willing to work with younger children in theatre workshops and also take responsibility for running and funding the company. Tickets are £8; children £5; families £22.
