MALTON and Norton golfer Emma Duggleby was beaten by Spain's Maria Prieto at the final hole in her singles match at Cirolo, Venice, when representing Great Britain against the rest of Europe in the Vagliano Trophy.
She had been one up after 16 holes but lost the 17th and then watched her opponent knock in 15ft putt at the last.
However, Duggleby won her foursomes by coming from three shots down with Derbyshire's Fame Moore to beat German pair Martina Eberl and Denise Simon by one hole.
Britain trail 7-5 after the first day's play after leading 3-1 in the foursomes.
