YOUR article on the forthcoming Elvington Air Show describes the Handley Page Victor as known to many as the V-bomber (August 4).
Was it not the Vulcan, purposely built as a long range bomber, with it's V- shaped delta wings which was in fact the V-bomber? I recall Victors taking on the roll of mid-air refuelling tankers, a role later taken on by converted VC 10s.
