Dawn Exton was once again in excellent form for Cygnet as she included three ton-plus scores for 20 darts in York John Smith's Ladies League division one against leaders City Arms.

However, City Arms won the match 6-3 as Carole Pipes closed on 93 with treble 19 double 18, Angie Hields scored well and Tracey Farmeary threw a 21-darter which included two tons.

Second-placed Brigadier produced a superb team performance against Slipper who were saved from a whitewash by the Mavis Barker/Aline Turpin combination.

Ox had their match sewn up early on as they stampeded into a 5-1 lead against Cranes.

Lesley Nicholson saved Clifton's blushes by being their lone point scorer as Sue Claydon and Joan Cockerill helped Vaults to victory.

Punch and Layerthorpe were on level terms as they started the pairs but Punch stirred themselves to close the match 6-3 in their favour.

Slip, who lead division two, were taken to the wire by Cygnet who led 4-2 going into the pairs. Glenda Mordue with Gill Warriner made it 4-4 and Slip's captain Jackie Clemit partnered Brenda Robinson to seal the decider.

Mandy Watson played well for joint second-placed Mitre while Cherelle Jarvis and Carol Pearson secured the win against Britannia 'B'.

Half Moor, sharing joint place with Mitre, had captain Maureen Ferguson and Dorothy Bruce hitting the tons to overcome Leeman 6-3.

Sally Swales included three tons as Britannia 'A' proved too strong for Severus.

Burton WMC shot into a 3-0 lead before Mavis Irvin and Sylvia Keenan put Jubilee on the scoresheet. However, Jenny Barron put Burton back on track to win 6-3.

Maggie Beddingham and Brenda Hodgson hit the high scores for Shepherd as they entered but Poacher held them to three apiece.

Anne Allinson and Eileen Haw edged the club side in front then Yvonne Watson and Sharon Pavis (130) levelled. Cath Sturdy and Sallie Spellman won Poacher the decider.

Division three leaders Clifton were 4-2 down to Tang Hall WMC whose Barbara Ward hit the tons. Her daughter, Marie Ward, paired with Debbie Moody to clinch a good win.

Carol Rimmer and Diane Walker were Ebor's only players to trouble the scorers as Shepherd, with Pauline Dale leading the way, gained valuable points which propels them into second place. Close rivals Holgate WMC lost to Queen before the pairs, Colleen Cunniff sealing the win.

Pat Norman was a double-ton scorer for Leeman 'B' as they beat Woolpack 6-3. June Miller (140) and Joan Hunter starred in Cue Ball's 7-2 victory against Puss while Drog beat Leeman 'C' by the same scoreline, Jean Elliott being their best.
