YORK City were today boosted by the capture of Sunderland striker Michael Proctor on a new loan deal.
The 20-year-old marksman, who is fast becoming a favourite with the Bootham Crescent faithful, was due to see his loan spell from Premiership Sunderland end after this Saturday's derby clash away to Hull City.
But after talks between York manager Terry Dolan and his Black Cats' counterpart Peter Reid, it has been agreed to extend the loan of Proctor to the Minstermen for another month.
That means he is now available for City's next seven games up to and including the visit of Exeter City on Saturday, October 6.
Proctor joind City on the eve of the current campaign and has proved an instant hit in partnership with Lee Nogan.
So far he has pocketed two goals in his seven appearances, including the sensational last-minute winner to seal the points over Halifax Town in City's last outing.
