I THINK it was very remiss of J. Fox (Letters, August 31) to suggest that the next lot of vandals damage the statue of Constantine beyond repair! How anyone can condone mindless acts of vandalism against a building such as the Minster, or the desecration of a statue is beyond belief.
Perhaps, Mr. Fox, we should have a go at the Mansion House next or the statue in Exhibition Square, or any more of York's great works of art. It makes for sad reading and even sadder people when one has to put up with reports about some mindless idiots who have nothing better to do.
