DEFENDER Andy McMillan, scorer of only five goals in his entire York City career, opened his account for Pickering Town who swamped Glasshoughton Welfare 5-1.
McMillan's opener was the signal for Pikes to register their third success of the season in the Northern Counties East League premier division.
Dean McAuley got a brace to add to a solo effort from Joe Connor for a 4-1 half-time lead.
The flow petered out after the break, but substitute Paul Wilson added a fifth.
Selby Town meanwhile made it four wins out of four to head the premier division after they beat visiting Brodsworth 1-0.
Selby took the lead after just 12 minutes when Stuart Lee drilled home a shot into the bottom corner from 20 yards.In the second half Selby failed to create many chances and had to work hard to hold on to the lead.
Harrogate Town made short work of West Auckland Town in their FA Cup preliminary round replay at Wetherby Road.
The hosts, held 2-2 in Saturday's first meeting, swept into the next round with a comprehensive 4-1 victory.
On target in a polished performance were Michael McNaughton, Matt Albery and Steve Ball with a brace.
