I WAS angry as I read your front page story ('Days seem numbered for city's peacocks', September 6) about the city council being asked not to introduce any more peacocks into the Museum Gardens because they cause too much damage to plants.

This is absurd. Will the council ban people from the gardens because they damage flowers, cause a disturbance and could be knocked down by traffic when they arrive or leave? City of York Council should look at how silly it will look if they do this. Focus your resources instead on ridding the streets of all the ghastly pigeons.
