SOME of York's best women's doubles tennis players will be in action at Fulford on Saturday in the IT Sports Ladies finals (1.30pm).
Couples will be in two groups with the winners of each playing each other in the final.
Group A: Julie Reilly and Jackie Heels (Fulford), Rosie Cantrell and Sue Peach (Poppleton), Jackie Ritchie and Wendy Cook (Civil Service), Helen Leach and Karen Retief (York).
Group B: Jill McCreedy and Anna Baker (Fulford), Debbie Godwin and Kirsty Godwin (Selby), Louise Lister and Wendy Stirke (York), Liz Bramley and Jill Schofield (Bubwith).
Trophies for the divisional winners of the Fulford Ladies Invitation League will be presented to York (division one), Castlegarth (division two), Civil Service (division three), Riccall (division four) and Wheldrake (division five).
The following clubs have entered teams in the Ladies Winter Tennis League: Poppleton, New Earswick, Cliffe, Pocklington, Rowntree Park, Sheriff Hutton and Terrington. Any other clubs wishing to join should contact Terry Haw on 627899.
