I AM writing to correct the restaurant review of the Hilton York (September 30).

The Evening Press stated that the hotel had no disabled access. As many of our guests are aware, we have a ramp from the street into the foyer, and full wheelchair access into the restaurant. In addition, there is access from the car park via the lifts, and we have disabled toilets for both ladies and gentlemen on the ground floor.

We are pleased to note that the food was classed as 'excellent' and hope to put the matter of poor service behind us. We are fortunate enough to now have on board Rebecca Rice-Cruickshank, from the Phoenix Arizona Hilton. Rebecca has joined us as operations manager, and brought with her the enthusiasm, vitality and talent to drive our standards of service forward.

We hope to ensure that the standard of service will match the exceptionally high standard of food that our executive chef, Brian Galloway and his brigade are constantly maintaining.

We hope that readers of the Evening Press will visit Hilton York in order to draw their own conclusions.
