Selby is on the up. In terms of property prices, the town has long been the bridesmaid to the twin brides of Ryedale and York. Things look different today. Just as the market slows down in the rest of North Yorkshire, Selby house prices are set to rocket.
That is not surprising. Location, location, location is the estate agent's mantra, and Selby's position, between thriving York and Leeds, makes it an attractive proposition for commuters.
More than that, however, the town itself is prospering. Selby's industries and shops are doing well in difficult trading conditions. And the much-delayed bypass is on the way, which can only be good for business overall.
