IT was unlucky 14 for a hapless Burnage side who were comprehensively outplayed by a Selby team, who scored at will.
Free-flowing Selby ran in 14 tries shared between Parsonage (3), Horner (3), W Phillips (3), Smith (2), Hick, Stier and Scott, with Dave Batty converting seven.
The referee played negative injury time and shortened the game by 14 minutes to save further damage to the home team's feelings.
Selby made good use of this run out against the North Lancashire One outfit (one level down in the league structure) to improve handling and team skills and the switching of Tim Horner and Batty at full-back and centre looked a more comfortable blend.
Burnage had very little to offer and would not appear to recognize tackle if they found it in their jock straps, with their main influence being Paddy Field in the centre.
A major boost for Selby was the return after a long layoff of flanker Jim Nicholson with prop Paul Gabel also again available for first team duty.
