POLICE who pulled the body of a man from the River Ouse in York are appealing for help in identifying him.
The mystery man was seen falling into the river, close to Scarborough Railway Bridge, on Friday.
His body was found by police divers, but they still do not know who he is.
Now police are urging members of the public to contact them if they saw the man shortly before 3pm on Friday, or recognise his description.
He is white and between 50 and 70 years old, about 5ft 9in tall and of slim build.
He had receding grey hair and a large surgical scar which stretched from his Adam's apple to his right ear.
He was wearing black shoes without socks, and greyish green trousers which were turned up. His T-shirt and jumper had the word Gabicci printed on them.
