YORK City's leading scorer of last season, David McNiven is on trial with Scottish League division two outfit Hamilton Academicals.
McNiven, who had been on a short-term contract with Chester City in the Conference, played in the Accies' 1-0 win at Queen of the South at the weekend
The former Oldham striker scored ten goals for City last season, but his contract was not renewed after a dip in form at the end of the campaign.
