EQUESTRIAN

QUEEN Margaret's School, Escrick, enjoyed a very successful day at the Stonar One-Day Event Championships.

They won the intermediate championship for 12 to 15-year-olds, with the team of Jacqueline Coward, Charlotte Ward, Sophie Jewson and Sarah Taylor beating 28 other schools. Millfield finished second with St Mary and St Anne's third.

Queen Margaret's also had individual success as Ward finished first and picked up the rosette for the best dressage score in her section, while Taylor was third and Coward fifth.

Jewson had one unlucky refusal on the cross-country course but still finished in the top half of her section.
