THE story of young evacuees who were sent to stay with families throughout Yorkshire during the Second World War is being told through music and dance.
Stagecoach Youth Theatre York and PACT (Parents and Children Together) are putting on a musical documentary at Joseph Rowntree Theatre in York next week, as part of the Children's Society's work to enable disabled children.
A cast of 35 youngsters, both disabled and able bodied, will be appearing in Home And Far Away, which tells the story of youngsters from Hull from the moment they were told they would have to leave home to the moment they returned.
Performances take place at 7.30pm on October 25, 26 and 27 and tickets are available from the Theatre Royal box office on 01904 623568.
