A PAINFUL role reversal was in store for Bob Ogier when he had to pay a visit to the dentist.
For Bob, who spends his days putting tickets on wrongly-parked vehicles across a North Yorkshire district, found himself a victim of the yellow peril.
A 25-minute wait in Falsgrave Road, Scarborough, cost Ryedale's only traffic warden £20 and a red face when he was caught without a parking disc.
"It was a two-hour waiting zone, so I knew I had plenty of time, but I didn't have a disc," explained Bob.
"I wrote the time of my arrival on a piece of paper and put it on the dashboard.
"When I came back, I had been given a ticket for not displaying the correct parking disc.
"Because it was Scarborough Borough Council, I was saved the embarrassment of having to pay at my own office.
"But it raised a few laughs when I got back to Ryedale."
Bob said he paid the fine promptly, and the experience has helped him see his job "from the other side of the ticket book".
He added: "I realise that if you have done the wrong thing it is difficult to complain about it - even if you get your leg pulled ever after."
